Hello

We are the Couples Haven. It’s nice to meet you!

We are a small cottage just for couples in Normandy. Located near to the hub town of St. Lo, well placed to explore the history with the beautiful beaches and landscape that surround us.

Your own world

Your hosts are on site for anything you may need, yet the gardens are secluded for a little sun worship or a BBQ. Walk a few metres further and you are surrounded by green and Normandy countryside.

Surrounded by farmland

Set back from the road and 2km from the RN174 junction 8, there is fast access to the main roads to beaches, Mont St. Michel and more. The nearby town of Pont Hebert with a small supermarket, petrol station, and a boulangerie to die for means you don’t need to go far for the essentials.

Quiet gardens

Park your car outside the door and wander down to about half a hectare of gardens and pond surrounding the cottage and its secluded patio. From ducks and coots to sparrows, swifts, hawks and kites, they all live in the surrounding woods and fields.

Nearby St. Lo.

Ten minutes by car is the prefecture capital of St Lo with its mediaeval city wall, restaurants and bars at the Plage Vert (green beach) by the river Vire. We have a few bicycles available for a pleasant ride into St. Lo along the river on a flat path, and if you bring your own, they can be kept safe under cover opposite the cottage. Parking is outside the cottage is on a gravel drive, overlooking the gardens and well away from the road so quiet and safe.

Surrounded by the sea

In terms of sea, the wartime beaches to the east are about thirty minutes’ drive, with a stunning fifty kilometres of unspoilt sand beaches to the west about forty-five minutes away. St Michaels Mount, France’s most visited attraction is an hour on the motorway. Around Agon-Coutainville are a number of formal and (very) informal beach side restaurants and bars. The sunsets out over the Atlantic are a photographers’ dream with nothing better than sitting with a coffee or a wine relaxing with the sheer lack of people this location, watching the birds and wildlife.

Who for?

We can accommodate three adults though two is best. For non mobile infants we can provide cot, chair and similar, so you don’t have to bring it with you. The cottage layout has a spiral staircase and unsuitable for wheelchair users.

There is no nicer place to tuck away quietly together than our cottage and we look forward to sharing it with you.
