The previously Senate rejected Information Transparency and Personal Data Control Act, is about to be re presented by which aims to create a national data privacy standard. In particular, Republican Senator Susan DelBene is again promoting the importance of Federally consistent consumer data and privacy rights. With more of a feel of GDPR than anything previously, many in Congress realise that with the USA at the heart of all social media and considerable amounts of e-commerce, its begun to look like a laggard when protecting its own citizens from domestic business abuse. Will 2021 see this bill make it to law, somehow I doubt it. Despite its critical importance for the USA to act reasonably, my feeling is the Republican party will need some low hanging targets to vent their political frustrations on. Lets hope I am wrong.
